Blogging Goals for April
These are my blogging goals for April:
- Update all old blog posts – ACHIEVED
- Drive blog page views – ACHIEVED
- Commit to the content schedule – ACHIEVED
Commitment Schedule VS Actual Work Done
Here’s the schedule I have committed to VS the actual work completed:
Commitment Schedule | Actual Work |
1 New Blog Post per week Update 2/3 Old Blog Posts per week | 13 Blog Posts – 11 Old, 5 New (+ 79 pageviews VS March) |
1 Facebook posts per day | 46 FB Posts + 6 FB Reels + 16 FB Stories (+4 new followers) |
1 Tiktok per day | 20 Tiktok Posts (+24 new followers) |
3 IG Posts per week | 7 IG Reels + 13 IG Post + 24 IG Stories (+27 new followers) |
Blog pageviews have risen significantly (10 times) compared to March, signifying that the SEO strategy for the blog is working.
Social Media Analytics
Social Media | Engagement Rate | Account Growth Rate |
3% | 1.2% | |
Tiktok | 2% | 12% |
3% | 18% |
What’s interesting here is that the engagement rate for each platform is relatively similar but both TikTok and Instagram have double-digit growth. This may signify that my content is more relatable to my audience on these platforms.

SEO is KEY!
If you have been following closely with my blogging journey, you will know that I am a complete beginner when it comes to blogging, and that means SEO too. I started blogging only in October 2023, and I learned everything from scratch.
SEO means search engine optimization. If you can do SEO well, your blog posts will be able to appear higher when someone searches for a certain keyword on Google Search Engine. And this is the first step to getting a million views per month on your blog. You need to get this right.
My blog has been stagnant for quite some time, and long story short, I invested in a blogging course and started implementing the strategies. In April, I finally updated all of my old blog posts to meet the standards, formatting, and SEO strategy that have been laid out in my blogging course.
I was very satisfied with the result. I know that blogging is not a FAST game, and to get to 1 million page views per month, I am still far from it. However, seeing a huge improvement from previous months gets me excited and hopfeul for the blog’s future.
What I have learned so far is that SEO is key! You literally have to put it everywhere! If you are interested in checking out the blogging post I took, I have linked the resources for you below.
Just know that if I can do it and have results, YOU CAN TOO!

Experiment with your Content Strategy
When I first started with my social media, my content strategy revolved around different content pillars that I had set. Because back then, I thought my blog was a lifestyle blog and I could write anything I wanted.
However, as months passed, I could tell that the content I published on all the social media platforms was not performing well. Therefore, I decided to make a change and focus on one pillar most of the time.
In April, I zoomed in on analytics and entrepreneurship topics, which I feel will be more relatable and also a huge focus on my blog. And the results prove it! The number of followers I gained in the month is more than I have ever seen.
The moral of the story – experiment, experiment, experiment! If something doesn’t work out, don’t wait it out. Act now! For social media, it is not a FAST game. If you do it right, you will be able to shine.
Although I have not reached my short-term goal, I know I am on the right track and I will reach it soon.
Main Blog Learnings for April
- Even if you have a lot of content pillars, when starting out, it seems that zooming in on 1 or 2 of them will help your account grow faster.
- SEO is KEY when it comes to blogging, so make sure you take steps to learn it either by investing in a course or learning from free resources. The good stuff is usually in the paid options.
- Some movement is better than no movement. Getting to 7 digits in blog page views will take some time, but you should at least see some progress.
