Step by Step Instructions
I will be dividing this mini coffee mug tutorial into 5 sections:
- Coffee Saucer
- Coffee Handle
- Coffee Cup
- Coffee
- Assembling the Coffee Parts
Coffee Saucer
Let’s start with the coffee saucer, which forms the base of our mini coffee cup.

5: 6 (3 SC, V)
Coffee Handle
Next, we will create the coffee handle. This part is simple—just do 6 chains.

Coffee Cup
Now, let’s move on to the coffee cup itself, which will be the main structure of our project.

4: BLO 18 SC

5 to 7: 18 SC
Coffee (Top Layer)
Once the cup is complete, it is time to add the coffee (or beverage) top layer. You have two options for this step:

Method 1: Crochet the coffee separately and glue it on
If you prefer, you can crochet the coffee piece separately and attach it later with glue.

After finishing, attach the piece to the cup using a glue gun.
Method 2: Continue crocheting from the coffee cup
Alternatively, you can crochet the coffee directly onto the cup using a different color yarn.

Use a color that matches your chosen beverage. I chose:
- Dark brown for coffee
- Light brown for tea
- Green for matcha
Tip: If you are using Method 2, attach the handle and saucer before crocheting the coffee top to hide extra yarn ends.
Assembling the Coffee Cup
Finally, let’s put everything together to complete the mini coffee cup.
To put everything together:
- Attach the coffee handle – Sew it between rows 4 and 6 of the cup. Secure it with a double knot inside the cup.
- Attach the saucer – Use the extra long tail from the saucer, sew it to the bottom of the cup, and double knot it with any yarn from the coffee handle.
- Attach the coffee top:
- If you are using Method 1, glue the coffee top to the cup and then glue the saucer to the bottom. You can add some stuffing before gluing for extra volume.
- If you are using Method 2, add a bit of stuffing before completing the last round of the coffee top. Then, glue the saucer to the cup as the final step.
