Step by Step Instructions
This crochet tutorial is divided into two sections:
- Easter Egg – The classic Easter egg crochet pattern.
- Mini Easter Basket – A mini crochet Easter basket to hold your eggs.
Easter Egg
Let’s start with the egg! Grab your 3.0 mm hook for this part.

1: MR, 8 SC
2: 4 (SC, V)
3: 4 (SC, V, SC)
4: 4 (3 SC, V)
5: 20 SC
6: 4 (2 SC, V, 2 SC)
7 TO 11: 24 SC
12: 6 (2 SC, A)
13: 6 (SC, A)
14: 6 A
I am going for a pastel colour theme, but feel free to switch up the colours to match your Easter decor!
Mini Easter Basket
To display your crochet Easter eggs, we will create a cute little basket. You can make two versions—one with a handle and one without. For this, switch to your 5.0 mm hook.

Basket with Handle
1: MR, 8 SC
2: 8 V
3: 8 (SC, V)
4: BLO 24 SC
5: 24 SC, SL ST, 16 CH, SL ST on the other side
Basket without Handle
1: MR, 8 SC
2: 8 V
3: 8 (SC, V)
4: BLO 24 SC
5: 24 SC
If you need a bigger basket, simply add more rounds to increase the size. Another trick is to use a smaller hook size for the eggs so they fit better inside the basket.
Here’s how your crochet Easter eggs and basket will look when finished:

This is a simple crochet Easter idea that makes a great handmade Easter decoration or even a fun DIY Easter gift. Whether you are making them for yourself or as part of your Easter crafts collection, these eggs will add a festive touch to your holiday!
Happy crocheting!
