Want to make extra cash online? Below are 5 easy side hustles to get you started today.
Since starting my self-employed journey, of course, I have dedicated some time to making some extra cash through side hustles every month just to pay for my meals while still working on my main income streams.
Below are 5 easy side hustles online that I have tried, including crowdsourcing platform, survey platform, online survey app, and many more.
I will be providing you with my honest review for each one. Stick around until the end as I save my favourite one for last.
This post is all about recommending legit and easy side hustles online.
1. ClickASnap
ClickASnap is a photo-sharing platform that offers an excellent opportunity to monetize your photography. The beauty of it is that it doesn’t claim any rights to your uploaded photos.
This platform employs a freemium model, allowing you to get started for free and offering various upgrade options for enhanced benefits.
i) Free Version: With the free version, each paid view earns you 0.01 cents, and you can upload up to 20 photos per day.
ii) Upgrade Plans: ClickASnap provides several paid plans that unlock more features and higher earnings per view.
One important note is that you can only cash out your earnings once you have accumulated $15.
My Thoughts:
If you are a photography enthusiast, have a steady stream of photos, or are good at attracting views to your images, ClickASnap can be a great platform for you. However, I found that after about a month of using the free version, I ran out of photos to upload. Achieving substantial passive income can be challenging, considering the 0.01 cents per view. To reach a target like $100, you will need 10,000 views per month, which amounts to just 100 views per photo if you have 100 images on your account. It is essential to weigh the time and effort required against your potential earnings, especially if you are considering upgrading your plan for higher per-view rates.
Despite these considerations, I still find it worthwhile to upload exceptional photos from my travels for that extra cash. After all, who doesn’t appreciate a bit of additional income? 😉
2. Pureprofile
Pureprofile is an online survey platform that offers a simple way to earn money by participating in brief surveys and sharing your thoughts.
Here are a few ways to maximize your earnings on this platform:
- Complete Your Profile: One of the key strategies for success on Pureprofile is to fill out your profile thoroughly. This helps Pureprofile match you with suitable earning opportunities. It typically takes less than 20 minutes to complete this section when you first create your account.
- Keep Your Profile Updated: Regularly updating your profile is recommended. This increases your chances of being matched with more paid surveys.
- Honest Responses: Pureprofile has mechanisms in place to identify bad behaviours such as dishonest or nonsensical responses. It is important to provide honest answers to survey questions rather than attempting to rush through for quick earnings.
- Immediate Survey Participation: Time is of the essence when it comes to survey opportunities. Each survey has a limited quota, and the earlier you participate, the more you can earn.
- Accurate Payment Details: Ensuring your payment details are up to date is crucial. Failure to provide accurate information may lead to payment delays.
Pureprofile allows you to redeem your earnings as often as you like, provided each redemption meets the minimum amount required for cashing out. The minimum redemption amounts vary based on your location. Here’s a breakdown of these amounts in local currencies:
- $20: Australia, New Zealand
- $10: Singapore, United States
- $10: United Kingdom
My Thoughts
Pureprofile has become one of my go-to platforms for 2 main reasons.
- I like the convenience of using the app, allowing me to complete surveys during my commute to work or school. I have encountered situations where I completed all available surveys quickly, leaving me with nothing to do until the next day when new surveys become available. 😉
- The surveys on Pureprofile tend to be relatively short, which is a contrast to some other survey platforms with lengthy surveys but minimal payouts.
Despite the occasional waiting, I find it worthwhile to earn through Pureprofile.
3. Clickworker
Clickworker is a crowdsourcing platform where you can earn extra cash by completing a variety of tasks such as:
- Writing product descriptions
- Transcribing
- Completing surveys
- Testing
The platform offers two main categories of tasks:
- In-App Tasks: These are straightforward tasks, such as taking photos or recording videos
- Partner Platforms: Clickworker has collaborated with partner platforms, including UHRS, Tap Research, Pollfish, and CPX Research. These platforms offer a variety of tasks and surveys.
- Tap Research, Pollfish, and CPX Research: These platforms primarily focus on surveys.
- UHRS (Universal Human Relevance System): UHRS is a separate platform where you can earn by completing diverse tasks. These tasks include rating search engine accuracy, voice recording comparisons, validating document sections, confirming online information, and more. They are often referred to as micro tasks. The more tasks you complete, the more you earn.
To receive your earnings, you need to reach the minimum payout amount, which varies depending on your chosen payment method:
- For Payoneer: 20 Euros
- For PayPal, SEPA, ACH: 10 Euros
With Clickworker, you don’t need to request a payout. Once you reach the minimum payout requirement, they will automatically send your earnings. To ensure a smooth process, remember to fill up your payment details and any other necessary information required for your region as soon as you set up your account.
My Thoughts
I primarily used Clickworker on my desktop, focusing on small tasks rather than surveys. Working on the desktop allowed me to complete these tasks more efficiently. It is worth mentioning that UHRS requires training and passing a test before you can start earning. This process involves demonstrating your understanding of the tasks and how to complete them according to their standards. Once you pass this initial phase, earning money becomes a breeze.
Clickworker also offers a mobile app, which I use when I have spare time and have exhausted survey opportunities on other platforms. The unique feature of surveys on Clickworker is the inclusion of pre-assessment questions. Even if you don’t meet the criteria for a particular survey, you will still receive a small payment as a token of appreciation for your effort and time.
4. Attapoll
Attapoll is an online survey app where you get paid to take surveys. This is available on the app store for both Apple and Android users.
To receive your earnings on the Attapoll platform, you must meet the minimum requirements for each payment method. In Singapore, the payout structure is as follows:
- Paypal: S$5.00
- Revolut: S$4.50
- Donate: S$4.50
The minimum payout thresholds are quite low, allowing you to cash out at your convenience. I usually withdraw my earnings either on a monthly or weekly basis.
My Thoughts
Attapoll ranks among my top three favourite platforms for 2 main reasons.
- The app provides the estimated time required to complete a survey and the corresponding payment. This feature enables me to select surveys that align with my preferences. However, I did encounter situations when some surveys may not match the initially stated time estimates. In such cases, I exit the survey to make better use of my time.
- Attapoll’s surveys have a high Return on Investment (ROI). For instance, you may come across surveys that offer as much as $1.23 for an estimated 5-minute survey. I typically prioritize these high-paying surveys that require minimal time. Keep in mind that such surveys are in high demand and tend to fill up quickly. To maximize your earnings, it is important to respond quickly when you receive notifications about these opportunities.
5. UserTesting
Let’s talk about my all-time favorite platform – UserTesting. This remarkable platform offers you the opportunity to earn money by testing tasks and providing honest feedback on products and experiences.
When you sign up for an account, you will be required to take a quick practice test to validate your authenticity. Following this, the process is straightforward: answer screening questions and get matched with tasks. Once matched, all that is left is to vocalize your honest opinions, submit your feedback, and await payment.
One great feature of UserTesting is there is no minimum payout threshold. You have the flexibility to cash out whenever you prefer. The only prerequisite is to possess a PayPal account, a relatively easy setup.
My Thoughts
UserTesting is my favourite platform among the 5 easy side hustles I have introduced here. Here’s why I LOVED it:
- I have the freedom to cash out at any time.
- The returns are incredible. Although getting matched can be a bit challenging at times, once you are in, the payouts are insane. The payouts for basic tests are USD 10 per test and I typically spend just 20 minutes or less on each. The platform also offers live testing where you can earn up to USD 60 per test if you get matched.
- The tests are also easy and super interesting to do. All I have to do is talk and speak my mind, sharing what I think. Thanks to the screening questions, I always end up discussing things I am familiar with, so I never run out of things to say.
So, there you have it – 5 easy side hustles that you can try and start today to boost your online income.
My advice: always consider your ROI. Focus on activities that make the most sense for you, and don’t waste your time on tasks that offer minimal rewards. Happy earning!
