Crochet Diagram Generator
from text to visual in seconds
Crochet Diagram Generator (CDG) is not just another crochet pattern tool. It helps you visualize patterns, reduce mistakes, and stitch smarter.
This tool is 100% free to use. Just write, click, and create!
Enter the text instructions.
PS This is still a work-in-progress project, and we have done our best to make it as user-friendly as possible. To get the best results, please read the rules and supported stitches below before using the generator.
PPS CDG can only support crochet diagrams that are circular in nature (ie start with magic ring).
Rules
To start every row, write the number followed by a colon e.g., 1:, 2:.
To write repeatable parts of a pattern:
- Use “(” and “)” for stitches in the same stitch.
- Put the number in front of the brackets to indicate how many times, followed by a spacing. E.g. 6 (2 CH, DC, 2 CH)

Message from Creators
This project is my love letter to the crochet community, and that means you. 🩷
I have always wanted to include crochet diagrams in my blog posts, but they take forever to make, and I would rather be crocheting than diagramming. 😅
So I partnered up with my friend, Alex, to build the Crochet Diagram Generator completely from scratch (yep, he coded it line by line!). I am sharing it with you because I truly believe this tool can help both visual learners and experienced crocheters who want to bring new patterns to life.
This is a work-in-progress, and coding takes time. If you love what we have created and want to support us, you can buy us a latte to keep the updates coming. ☕
(Just scan the QR code or click the little latte icon floating at the bottom right of the page.)

If you have any feedback or ideas, I want to hear from you! Email me at [email protected]
With love, Jaslyn
Roadmap
Here’s what’s coming soon:
- Square brackets for a pattern across more than 1 stitch
- More crochet stitches
