Pixel Art Converter
Turn any images into pixel art in seconds
Pixel Art Converter (PAC) isn’t just another pixel art generator, it is designed specifically for crafters like you (and me!) who want to turn images into easy-to-follow pixel patterns fast. Whether you are working on crochet, Perler beads, cross stitch, or any craft that uses pixel-style grids, this tool makes the process easier.
You can customize your pattern before you start crafting, helping you save time, reduce counting mistakes, and focus on creating instead of figuring out the pixels.
This tool is 100% free to use. Just upload your image, customize, and download!

How to Use
Step 1: Drag your image into the app
Start by finding an image that is already close to what you have in mind. The more similar it is to your final idea, the fewer edits you will need later.
Once you drag it in, the app will automatically convert your image to pixel art.
Step 2: Customize the size
Adjust the number of rows and columns to make the pixel art fit your canvas size. This is especially useful if you are using a specific grid or board.
Personally, I usually go for 14×14 or 29×29 since those match my peg board sizes when I am playing with Perler beads.
Step 3: Edit the colors
The app will generate a maximum of 20 colors by default. From here, you have two ways to edit them:
- Edit directly on the image: Click on any pixel and choose the color you prefer. This is great for small, detailed changes.
- Edit in the color palette: You can tweak colors one by one, or move faster by editing in bulk. Simply hold Shift + click to select multiple colors and change them all at once.
This step gives you full control over how your photo pixel art or pixel picture turns out.
Step 4: Download your image
Once you are happy with the result, scroll all the way to the bottom and download your pixel art image. You can now work offline, share it, or use it however you like.
Message from Creator
As someone who lives and breathes art and crafts, I know how much easier it is to have a visual reference instead of recounting every stitch or bead placement. If you are a crafter, I am sure you understand exactly what I mean, it can get tedious! That’s why I wanted to create something to make this part of the process more fun.
That’s how Pixel Art Converter was born. I built it to help you save time and turn your ideas into clear, easy-to-follow pixel patterns. I use it for my own creations too, whether it is crochet, Perler beads, or other pixel-based crafts.
Here’s an example of what I have created using Perler beads:

Whether you are making a cross-stitch pattern, designing a Perler bead coaster, or creating a crochet mini art frame, Pixel Art Converter is here to help crafters like us bring our ideas to life without the extra stress.
I hope you enjoy using it as much as I have enjoyed making it for you! 😉
With love, Jaslyn
