6 DIY Perler Bead Fruit Coasters Using Neon Colors

List of 6 Perler bead fruit coasters idea.

What happens when you make perler bead fruit coasters using only neon colors and limit every design to a 14×14 pegboard? That is the creative challenge behind this project. Instead of carefully planning each pattern ahead of time, I designed every fruit as I went, letting the colors and shapes guide the process.

These fruit perler beads ideas are bright, playful, and beginner-friendly, making them perfect if you’re looking for perler beads fruits that work as functional decor. This post shares each fruits coaster perler beads pattern, along with customization ideas, so you can easily recreate these coasters or adjust them to fit your own style.

Material Used

Before jumping into the designs, here’s everything I used for these fruit coasters:

  • Neon perler beads
  • Square pegboard
  • Hexagon pegboard
  • Circle pegboard

Even though I experimented with different pegboard shapes, I kept every fruit design within around the 14×14 size to ensure they work well as coasters.

CREATE A PATTERN

Fruit Coaster Perler Bead Patterns

Below, you will find each fruit coaster featured in the video. I am sharing a quick description of the design process, customization ideas, and the final pattern image so you can recreate it yourself.

If you prefer to craft along visually, you can also watch the full process here:

1: Lemon

I started with a lemon because it is one of the simplest fruit perler beads designs and a great way to warm up. The bright neon yellow instantly gives it that fresh, citrus look, while black beads help define the outline within the 14×14 pegboard.

You can customize this lemon by adjusting the shape to make it rounder or more oval, or by adding a lighter yellow highlight to give it extra dimension.

2: Strawberry

Next, I moved on to a strawberry, which adds a bit more detail while still staying manageable. The neon pink makes the fruit pop, and the green top creates a strong contrast that keeps the design readable at a small scale.

To personalize this further, you can try changing the seed placement or using a different color.

3: Blueberry

After that, I designed multiple blueberries They fits nicely within the 14×14 limit, and the neon blue gives it a bold feel.

For customization, you can try different placement or add a small highlight bead to suggest shine.

4: Orange

The orange coaster builds on the lemon design but adds more texture and warmth. I used neon orange beads with shadow to clearly define the circular shape without overcrowding the pattern.

You can customize this one by adding a small stem or experimenting with highlights using yellow beads. It is a fun way to practice balance.

5: Apple

The apple design introduces a more iconic fruit shape, which makes it instantly recognizable. Neon pink works beautifully here, while a simple leaf detail helps ground the design visually.

If you want to customize this pattern, try switching to green or yellow apples, or add a subtle highlight.

6: Watermelon

Finally, I wrapped up with a watermelon slice, which brings in multiple colors while still trying to stay within the 14×14 pegboard limit. The neon pink interior paired with green rind makes this one of the most playful perler bead fruit coasters in the set.

You can customize this design by adding more seeds, changing the slice angle, or turning it into a full circle watermelon if you want a bigger visual impact.
