Step-by-Step Instructions
Now, I will divide this crochet bubble tea tutorial into five main sections:
- Legs
- Straw
- Cover
- Body
- Putting Everything Together
1: Legs
First, let’s start with the legs. I am using dark brown yarn for this part.

1: 3 CH, go back 2 chains, SC, W, V, SL ST
2: CH, 6 SC, SL ST
3: CH, SC, 2A, SC, SL ST
4: CH, 4 SC, SL ST
Make two legs in total. Then, leave a long tail for sewing later.
2: Straw
Next, let’s crochet the straw using white yarn.

1: MR, 6 SC, SL ST
2: CH, BLO 6 SC, SL ST
3 to 8: CH, 6 SC, SL ST
You can adjust the length of the straw based on your preference. Additionally, you can insert a thin wire inside to make the straw bendable.
3: Cover
Now, let’s make the top cover of the bubble tea using white yarn.

1: MR, 6 SC, SL ST
2: CH, 6 V, SL ST
3: CH, 6 (SC, V), SL ST
4: CH, 6 (SC, V, SC), SL ST
5: CH, 6 (3 SC, V), SL ST
6: CH, 6 (2 SC, V, 2 SC), SL ST
7: CH, 4 (SC, FV, HDC, SC, HDC, DC, EV, DC, HDC), SL ST
4: Body
Then, we will crochet the body using brown yarn.

1: MR, 6 SC, SL ST
2: CH, 6 V, SL ST
3: CH, 6 (SC, V), SL ST
4: CH, 6 (SC, V, SC), SL ST
5: CH, 6 (3 SC, V), SL ST
6: CH, 6 (2 SC, V, 2 SC), SL ST
7: CH, BLO 36 SC, SL ST
8 to 12: CH, 36 SC, SL ST
13: CH, BLO 36 SC, SL ST
14 to 16: CH, 36 SC, SL ST
After that, use the front loops of row 13 and switch to white yarn. Then, crochet 6 (5 SC, SL ST) around to create the whipped cream effect.
5: Putting Everything Together
Finally, let’s assemble all the pieces. I have broken this down into simple steps.
Step 1: Attach the Legs

First, sew the legs onto the body.
I placed them around row 7 so the bubble tea can sit nicely on a flat surface. However, you can adjust the position based on your preference.
Instead of cutting the excess yarn, I tuck it inside the body to keep everything neat.
Step 2: Add the Eyes and Mouth

Then, use black yarn to sew a simple mouth to give your crochet boba a cute expression.
Step 3: Attach the Straw & Glue the Boba

After that, position the straw in the center of the cover. Sew it securely around all sides. Again, you can tuck any excess yarn inside instead of trimming it.
Then, use bigger safety eyes as the boba pearls, and attach them around the straw area using a glue gun.
Step 4: Add Stuffing and Assemble

Finally, stuff the body so it becomes squishy.
Then, apply glue along the top edge of the body and attach the cover. Slowly glue the sides down to secure everything in place.
