Adding to my Jellycat collection is this super adorable apple, and it turned out so much better than I expected. It is the kind of crochet gift that looks impressive but is totally achievable, even if you are fairly new to crochet amigurumi.

    Step-by-Step Instructions

I will be dividing this crochet apple guide into 5 sections:

    1. Apple
    2. Stem
    3. Leaf
    4. Legs
    5. Putting It Together

    1: Apple

To start, let us work on the apple body. This is the largest piece and takes the most rounds, so take your time and mark your stitches as you go.

    4: Legs

Now, make the legs. You will need to do two.

    5: Putting It together

Finally, assemble all the pieces. This is my favorite part.

    Step 1: Attach the legs

Place the legs about 2 stitches apart. Sew them on securely. You can also add a dab of hot glue for extra hold if you want to be sure they stay in place.

Step 2: Attach the stem and leaf

Sew the stem on first, then attach the leaf. Once the leaf is sewn on, glue about one third of it flat against the apple body. This keeps the leaf from sticking out and gives the finished piece a much cleaner look.

Step 3: Glue the eyes and sew the mouth

For the final touch, choose your preferred safety eye size and glue them in place. Then use a length of black yarn to sew on a simple mouth. And that is it!
