Step-by-Step Instructions
I will be dividing this crochet onigiri keychain into 3 steps.
Step 1: Seaweed
To start, let us work on the seaweed.
10 CH, go back 2 chains, 9 HDC, 2 CH, SL ST into the first chain
Step 2: Rice
Next, let us move on to the rice.
1: 8 CH, go back 2 chains, 6 SC, W, 5 SC, V, SL ST
2: CH, 16 SC, SL ST
3: CH, 6 SC, A, 6 SC, A, SL ST
4: CH, K, 5 SC, A, 5 SC, K, SL ST
5: CH, K, 4 SC, A, 4 SC, K, SL ST
6: CH, K, 3 SC, A, 3 SC, K, SL ST
Add stuffing
7: CH, K, 2 SC, A, 2 SC, K, SL ST (optional)
Pinch both side together and sew it close.
Row 7 is optional. If you want the onigiri to have a more triangular shape, go ahead and do it. If not, you can stop at Row 6 and sew it closed from there.
Step 3: Putting It Together
Finally, this is the easiest part of all.
Simply heat up your glue gun and glue the seaweed onto the rice. To make it a crochet onigiri keychain, find a keychain ring you like and attach it to the top.
